Supporting Company
As a cooperative, our main role is to ensure access for small and medium-sized producers to opportunities like this. Payment for Environmental Services in agriculture is a way of recognizing producers who adopt the best conservation agriculture practices. Increasingly, the long agribusiness chain is being asked to produce more in quantity and quality, optimizing the use of natural resources in the production process. In this way, we have on one side producers who deserve recognition for the good practices they adopt, and on the other side consumers who want to know the story behind their food. Our expectation is that the Low Carbon Soybean Protocol can be that link. With the necessary transparency and credibility, together with the group, we increasingly want to recognize and encourage the adoption of practices that increase productivity and bring environmental gains. We also want to bring peace of mind to all consumers that tropical agriculture is sustainable and led by responsible farmers.
Multisectoral Support
The Low Carbon Soybean Program adopts a multisectoral innovation model and has a partnership with seven supporting companies: Bayer, Bunge, Cargill, Coamo, Cocamar, GDM and UPL.
