Supporting Company
Cargill believes that broad partnerships are needed to move the soy sector towards a sustainable future and to create the transformation we collectively aspire to. Being part of this project alongside important players is essential for us to take the sector to a new level. This unprecedented initiative by Embrapa will expand our technical understanding of the environmental impacts associated with the soy chain, mainly those related to greenhouse gas emissions, and how agriculture can be part of the solution in combating climate change. With the development of a certification protocol with a scientific basis and international recognition, we hope to be able to encourage the adoption of low carbon practices and technologies, highlight qualitative and quantitative aspects of sustainability of Brazilian soy and add value to the product produced with practices that reduce emissions of carbon per ton of grain produced.
Multisectoral Support
The Low Carbon Soybean Program adopts a multisectoral innovation model and has a partnership with seven supporting companies: Bayer, Bunge, Cargill, Coamo, Cocamar, GDM and UPL.
